Lisa Klein MS, CCC- SLP, COM is the owner and director of LKS and Associates. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Lisa earned a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the State of California. Lisa is CASANA Recognized for Advanced Training and Expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and a Certified Orofacial Myologist. Lisa has also been awarded the Continuing Education Board’s ACE Award to recognize continued professional study and is a certified JASPER therapist.
She has worked as a Speech Pathologist for over 20 years in private practice and rehabilitation hospitals all over the US. Lisa evaluates and treats both children and adults with a variety of disorders, including CAS-Childhood Apraxia of speech, Autism, Orofacial Myology, Down Syndrome, feeding aversions, phonological/articulation disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, Aphasia, brain injury, stroke, cognitive-linguistic deficits, Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and Dysarthria.
Lisa collaborates with a team of professionals to ensure the best approach and treatment for each client. As a dedicated, hardworking, and passionate therapist, she implements the most innovative and effective treatment into every session and is a true advocate for her clients.
Alexa Gutman M.S., CCC-SLP COM
Certified Orofacial Myologist and Childhood Apraxia of Speech Specialist
Alexa Gutman, MS, CCC-SLP, is an ASHA and California state-certified Speech-Language Pathologist. She earned her Master’s degree from Salus University in Philadelphia, and her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh. Alexa also holds an Advanced Certificate in Autism Spectrum disorders from Brooklyn College. Alexa has focused her practice on Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), where she pursued advanced training with Dr. Edythe Strand and PROMPT training. Additionally, she specializes in Orofacial Myofunctional disorders and is certified through the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM).
Furthermore, Alexa evaluates and treats a wide range of disorders, including Autism, Auditory Processing disorders, developmental delays, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, Down Syndrome, social (pragmatic) disorders, and dyslexia. Alexa believes that therapy should be enjoyable and where development and progress are facilitated through fun, engaging, and meaningful learning opportunities. By collaborating with professionals from other disciplines, Alexa strives to provide the most comprehensive treatment through a personalized approach. She puts family-centered care at the forefront of her practice, knowing that parent involvement is integral to success in treatment.
Samantha Bolton M.S., CCC-SLP
Samantha Bolton, MS, CCC-SLP, is a California state-certified Speech-Language Pathologist and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Texas Christian University, Samantha completed her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of North Texas.
Samantha specializes in evaluating and treating children from the NICU to age 18 with feeding disorders, specifically oral phase dysphagia, pharyngeal phase dysphagia, and sensory feeding disorders. She has experience working with children with cleft lip and palate, g-tube dependence, cerebral palsy, chromosomal abnormalities, failure to thrive due to prematurity, Down Syndrome, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is certified to use Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) through Guardian Way. Sam uses NMES with clients who present with pharyngeal phase dysphagia and demonstrate aspiration or penetration to strengthen their swallowing muscles.
Beyond this, Samantha has experience assessing and treating children with various speech, language, and pragmatic disorders, including expressive and receptive language impairments, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency disorders, and hearing impairments.
Samantha believes that creating a trusting relationship with the client, engaging with families and caregivers, and coordinating with other medical professionals are critical components to building the foundation for successful feeding therapy. She strives to create a motivating environment during treatment, develop meaningful activities with families and caregivers, and offer support and guidance throughout the child’s treatment.
Taryn Erickson M.S., OTR/L
Taryn Erickson, MS, OTR/L, is an AOTA certified and California licensed Occupational Therapist focusing her practice on clinic-based pediatric treatment and individual child, family, and school consultation services. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Taryn earned her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills, where she received the Academic Excellence Award upon graduation.
Taryn specializes in the treatment and evaluation of children with various difficulties and delays related to fine motor, gross motor, visual motor, sensory processing, social-emotional, and adaptive skill development. Additionally, Taryn treats and evaluates various diagnoses, including Autism, Attention Deficit Disorder, genetic disorders, neurological disorders, sensory processing disorder, feeding problems, and developmental motor and coordination disorders. She also has extensive experience working with Developmental Optometrists and children with ocular motor, visual processing, visual-spatial, and visual-motor difficulties.
Before becoming an occupational therapist, Taryn spent several years working with children and their families in various roles, including a preschool teacher, Parent and Me Program Coordinator, and ABA therapist. Her unique and extensive experience working with children of all ages gives her a comprehensive and holistic perspective on child development. She is passionate and dedicated to supporting her clients in developing the necessary foundations and skills needed to participate and succeed in their everyday activities and environments. Taryn loves getting to “play” with her clients while simultaneously targeting the child’s goals and strives to make each treatment session individualized, motivating, and fun. Taryn strongly believes in an interdisciplinary approach among teammates and other professionals. She builds a collaborative partnership among parents and caregivers to best support progress and carryover of learning and skill acquisition.
Nikki Rabitoy, CPPM
Nikki Rabitoy graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Public Health from California State University, Northridge. She is a certified physician practice manager through the AAPC and is on track to earning her technical communication certification. Nikki joined the LKS family in February 2019, bringing eight years of experience working in operation management. Throughout her undergraduate career, she worked in various healthcare and child care settings.
Nikki’s favorite part of her position at LKS & Associates is the ability to wear multiple hats, from managing daily operations, social media, and marketing to getting silly and playing with the kids in the waiting area. She finds passion in her work and loves receiving the opportunity to get to know every family individually.
Oscar Klein is LKS & Associates’ official therapy dog. You will find him in Lisa’s treatment room on any given day. He is a sweet boy who loves to play with all the clients.
